I bought the safety toe version from amazon. I try not to buy boots online but these don’t seem to be a widely-carried model in boot stores.

Fit:I would say true to size. Right out of the box, the left one felt great but the right was really snug. My right foot is a little bigger than my left though so I had expected this. It was so tight that I was sure I was going to have trouble but I was dead wrong. The left boot is actually the one that went on to give me trouble. I possibly should have ordered them in an E width instead of D because my feet are pretty wide.

Break-In: I’m a surveyor so I do a fair amount of walking. The first couple days I wore them in wet, muddy fields where they were soaked through for extended periods of time and put them on my boot dryer at night. After that I sprayed them off at the car wash and put them on the boot dryer again. I loaded them up with mink oil after that and took them home for the holidays. Where all the stitching comes together (if you’re looking down with the left boot on your foot and on the right side of the boot near the toe) killed my foot during the first few wears but after the break-in I don’t have that problem anymore. I wore them around a little during that week and then oiled them up with a liquid oil/waterproofed before I went back to work. All in all I would say if I had been able to consistently wear them for a week they would have been broken in. I definitely loaded them up with oil to help, particularly that spot that was hurting my left foot.

After break-in: these are great boots. The only trouble I’ve had since break-in has been, again, with the left boot. The boot flexes right where the steel toe begins and that’s also beside my left pinky toe. I’ve had one or two instances where that spot caused me discomfort. I’ve had them for two months now and I purposefully waited that long to leave a review so I could work through any issues that arose.

I do recommend these boots. If you’re used to breaking in boots then I feel like you’ll be pleasantly surprised. If you aren’t used to breaking in boots, these are a great first pair.

Bonus** the white sole actually cleans up really nice, even after all the gunk I take them through. I’ll just hit them at the car wash and they look almost brand new.

Best boots i’ve ever worn! Very light and comfortable once broken in.

Man these puppies are killing my ankle. I’ve used mink oil to try and break the leather in but seems to still hurt like hell. The actual boot part fits great but unless the leather sides on my left food loosen up I won’t be wearing another pair of these and will go back to red wings
