^^^^^^^ Leonora Hilton, If you are having to double knot these or they are coming loose, you aren’t tying the knot correctly. I had the same issue with boots (not specifically Thorogoods), and now tie by boots differently. It’s the same way you have to tie boots with leather laces. There is a strong form and a weak form of the shoe knot, and the strong form won’t come loose and doesn’t need to be double knotted.

I’m sure it won’t let me put a video link in a review, but a simple search on YouTube has several videos that can show you how to do it and fix this issue for you.

I really love the fit of these boots, even though I didn’t think I would. However, mine do Not have the upper lace eyelet, which is why I didn’t/couldn’t give it 5 stars. I can’t tell you how many times the laces come undone and nearly Trip me! Working with livestock and heavy equipment, this becomes a Hazard. If I don’t double knot them, they come undone, every 5 minutes. Not happy about that! Why don’t mine have the upper eyelet hole? I hate double knotting the laces!
