I have the non-safety (soft) toe version of this boot. I’ve had them so long, I’ve lost track of how long I’ve had them. My best recollection is 6 years. These are an outstanding and most comfortable boot. I wear them year round for all kinds tasks, from working a variety of tasks such as working outdoors, to everyday wear around town etc. Proper care and maintenance (periodically cleaning and treating the leather upper and soles with hot water and a mild liquid detergent using a soft nylon brush. Next, cleaning the leather with warm water and saddle soap and after they dry, finishing with a high quality leather conditioner. Take care of your boots properly and they’ll take care of you! These boots hold up extremely well, they fit true to size and they’re 100% Made in the U.S.A.!! Being a law enforcement officer for going on 35 years, I wish that this boot was made in an all black, version that can be highly polished for public safety uniform wear.

These are the best all around boot. Comfortable, sturdy, and look good. I work construction and wear Thorogood lace up boots on job sites but I have these to put on the rest of the time. I have worn these boots hiking, camping, in deep snow and on date nights with the wife. I keep them oiled with mink oil which keeps them looking good and have never had wet feet. One time on a hike, I walked a couple hundred yards down a stream that was between 5-6″ of fast moving water. My feet stayed dry and I never lost my footing. I have had these for two years and plan on getting a new pair so I can wear these out working on my property. Best part of all – MADE IN USA

I work in the natural gas field, and I have 6 pairs of this particular style boot from Thorogood. And still wear every pair from time to time.
You will not find a better boot.

Basically what Mr. Boyd wrote. I went to the boot store today because they were having a blow out sale and was pulled into the store. I saw these boots in my size and they are by far the best boots I have ever owned. They look pretty fancy too. I don’t usually write reviews for products but I must commend well done craftsmanship. Always a plus to support a product made in the USA as well.

  5. Anderson Boyd

Not the toughest boot around but that negative is also why they are the most comfortable boot I have ever worn! Thorogood boots are more comfortable than ANY shoes or boots I have ever worn! Basically zero break-in required with these boots!
